Young Victims’ Service is for young people from 8 to 18 (can be and up to 25 for those with additional needs) who need help and support having been victims of crime and/or anti-social behaviour. The Service is provided throughout Avon and Somerset, covering Bath and North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset, Somerset and South Gloucestershire.
We use a range of methods including face to face and online work with young people drawing on young people’s strengths in order to empower them to move forward from their experience. Young people can be supported to access clear information, advice and guidance for their journey.
Young people or their families can self-refer. Referrals are also taken from the Lighthouse Victim and Witness Care Service, Police, Youth Offending and Social Care agencies, parents/carers, teachers and other professionals. The young people have to agree to receiving support from The Young Victims’ Service and parental consent may be required for younger young people.
